Police on Wednesday arrested 32 human rights activists including nine women for staging a demonstration organised by Human Rights and Peace Society in New Baneshwor, Kathmandu.
They have demanded the government remove Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Rabindra Adhikari for lying to the parliament, take action against those involved in misappropriating billions of rupees while procuring the two wide-body aircraft, and implement the agreement signed with fasting Dr Govinda KC.
Human rights activists Krishna Pahadi, Uttam Pudasaini, Gangadhar Adhikari, Ram Krishna Baral, Gita Timilsena, Saraswari Dhakal, Jayaram Pudasaini, Batu Krishna Dhungel, BP Paudel and Tanka Gaire among others were arrested today.
All the arrestees have been detained at the Metropolitan Police Circle, New Baneshwor.
