The constitutional bench led by Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana issued the notice to the government on Friday.
As many as 330 civil servants led by section officer Bikash Dongol had filed a writ petition at the SC on January 6 demanding that provisions of the ordinance which contradict with the constitution be scrapped.
Officers representing the general administration service of the batches 30-33 had filed the writ petition claiming that the mandatory adjustment would affect their career prospects.
They had also demanded an interim order to the government against the notice issued by the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration on the adjustment process. However, the deadline for government officials to apply for the adjustment process expired on January 16.
