Mahindra Rise 2019 kicks off in Kathmandu

The first edition of the Mahindra Rise 2019 festival kicked off on Friday at Bhrikutimandap in Kathmandu. MV Dugar Group, authorised distributor of Mahindra commercial and heavy equipment and Agni Incorporated, national seller of Mahindra passenger vehicles for Nepal jointly organised the event. The three day event aims to showcase the entire portfolio of Mahindra and Mahindra in a unique way which includes entertainment, said organisers.
Mahindra Rise 2019 is the first event of its kind organised in the country to give a different feel for visitors, said organisers. Similarly, there are plans to make the event an annual affair. The event unveiled new Mahindra vehicles, both in the commercial and passenger vehicle segments. The three day event will also include live music and various food stalls from popular restaurants. The organisers are expecting over 10,000 visitors.
Vivek Dugar, vice chairman at MV Dugar Group said, “Rather than just holding the event with a promotional motive, we want to connect with the public.” MV Dugar Group unveiled two new commercial vehicles at the event, the Blazo and Furio. They also launched the Road Master Grader75. Furio and Blazo 31X trippers feature fuel smart technology which helps save fuel by up to 30 percent with a fuel switch mode. The company plans to officially launch the vehicles in Nepal within three weeks.
Mahindra Grader is the first mid-segment heavy commercial vehicle in the country, said Dugar. Mahindra graders cost Rs3.5 million and the company is offering discounts of up to Rs500,000 during event. The company is expecting to sell 8 to 10 graders during the three day event. According to Dugar, Mahindra Loadking has been the market leader in the light commercial vehicle segment for two decades in the country, covering more than 70 percent of the market share. Mahindra Supro and Maximo covers more than 40 percent of the market share in the small commercial vehicle segment and are growing by 15 percent annually. Similarly, Mahindra holds 15 percent market share in the heavy commercial vehicle segment and sees growth of five percent annually.
“We want to make this event as a Mahindra carnival rather than just an auto show, said Sanjay Jadhav, vice president, head of international, South Asia at Mahindra and Mahindra. Similarly, the company unveiled Mahindra XUV 300 and Marazzo in the passenger vehicle segment during the event. “We will soon officially launch the vehicles in the market,” said Sijan Neupane, marketing manager at Agni Incorporated. The company has not fixed the prices of vehicles yet.
Beside unveiling new models, the company showcased existing models like the KUV 100, Thar, Scorpio, XUV 500. Mahindra XUV holds more than 40 percent market share in the sports utility vehicle segment, he said.
Mahindra and Mahindra India has more than 25 years of presence in the country and offers automotives, tractors, construction equipments, generators, electric vehicles, two wheelers and commercials vehicles.
