Kanchi Maya Koju makes hat-trick in Pinkathon

Nepal APF Club’s Kanchi Maya Koju claimed the half marathon title under Kathmandu Pinkathon, a franchise event, for the third time in a row on Saturday.
Koju clocked 1 hour 21 minutes and 44 seconds to win the main event under Pinkathon organised to encourage women in adopting healthy lifestyle. Nepal Police Club’s Rajpura Pachai finished second clocking 1:24:33 while Pushpa Bhandari of APF was third completing the 21km distance in 1:27:30. Veteran runner Koju bagged a cash purse of Rs 51,000 while runner-up Pachai received Rs 31,000 and Bhandari got Rs 21,000.
The 10km event saw Santoshi Shrestha of APF secure top position coming ahead of Chandra Raut and Saraswati Kadayat. The top three finishers of the event bagged a purse of Rs 31,000, Rs 21,000 and Rs 11,000 respectively. Samana Karki won the 5km event and received Rs 11,000. Fulmati Rana and Kajal Bista finished second and third respectively. Sanuka Thapa clinched 3km title.
Pinkathon, founded by Indian model, actor, film producer and fitness promoter Milind Soman, is organised by Leisure Port Nepal Pvt Ltd in Nepal. According to the organisers, about 2500 runners participated in the event.
