Let provincial government hold remaining SEE exams: Experts
Amid a spat between the central and provincial governments regarding the question paper leak of Secondary Education Examination in Province 2, experts have suggested that the federal government take this as an opportunity to hand over the responsibility of conducting the 10th grade national exam to the provincial governments.
After the consecutive incidents of question paper leak, the Province 2 government has come down heavily on the federal government, claiming it is a conspiracy to defame the provincial government and weaken federalism.
Education Minister Giriraj Mani Pokharel, however, said the federal government conducted the exam as the provincial governments were not prepared for it.
KTM-Kerung Railway project to get DPR soon
The government has said that a detailed project report of the much talked about Kathmandu-Kerung Railway project would be completed in the next six months.
The Chinese side conducted the pre-feasibility study of the 121-km railway in December last year. China First Survey and Design Institute had conducted the pre-feasibility study.
Wang Lijie, deputy general manager of China Railway International Group, said China has identified the cross-border railway connectivity project with Nepal as a high priority.
A police vehicle escorting ex-prime minister Chand hits scooter and then flees
A video clip of a speeding Armed Police Force vehicle hitting a scooter surfaced on social media on Saturday, prompting the Twitterati to call for action against the driver and find which VIP the vehicle was tailing as part of a security arrangement.
In the clip, the vehicle, with registration number Baa 1 Jha 9527, is seen overtaking a bike from the left side before making a sharp right turn—just when it passed by a scooter and a car—and in doing so, hitting the two-wheeler.
But the police vehicle continued driving, oblivious to what could have been a major accident.
