A number of automobile dealers have refreshed their line-up with new variants to attract customers looking to buy a new vehicle during the start of the Nepali New Year.
Suzuki launched the Wagon R in the four-wheeler segment while Yamaha and Hero unveiled the FZS-Fi V3.0 and Destini 125 respectively in the two-wheeler segment.
Automobile dealers make the bulk of their annual sales during Nepali New Year and the festive season of Dashain and Tihar. According to them, most customers aspire to buy a brand new product during this period.
Ramesh Danekhu, assistant manager, corporate communications and marketing at MAW Enterprises, said domestic two-wheeler dealers make nearly 75 percent of their annual sales during festivals like the Nepali New Year, Dashain and Tihar.
“Of them, nearly 25 percent of sales are made during the Nepali New Year alone,” said Danekhu adding that the business goes slow mostly during mid December- mid February as the buyers wait for the occasion to purchase new vehicles. Morang Auto Works, the authorised distributor of Yamaha bikes and scooters, has introduced Yamaha FZS-FI version 3.0. According to the company, the motorcycle is powered by a 149 cc single-cylinder, fuel-injected blue core engine and is now tuned to produce 13.2 bhp and 12.8 Nm of peak torque. Yamaha FZS-FI V 3 is priced at Rs309,900.
Targeting the New Year, Nepal General Marketing, the authorised distributor of Hero bikes and scooter introduced the Destini 125. The scooter features i3S technology that puts the engine into hibernate or sleep mode when it is stopped. The scooter also features digital analogue speedometer, side stand indicator and service due reminder. The two-wheeler is priced at Rs206,000.
Similarly, CG Motocorp, the authorised distributor of Suzuki automobiles, has launched third generation Suzuki Wagaon R in the domestic market. The four-wheeler features improved space, comfort, upgraded infotainment system.
As per the company, the modern K series engine used in the car saves fuel and delivers good driving experience.
The Wagon R uses a 1.2-litre engine which helps in providing high performance. The price of the Suzuki Wagaon R starts from Rs2.49 million.
