“When I demanded my salary, Magar said that he would pay me soon. Now he has stopped receiving my calls,” Karki said. Keshav Bamjan of Kamalamai Municipality-2 also has a similar grievance.
The victims filed a complaint at the Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police in Kathmandu.
Magar, one of the accused, claims that Green Club Nepal was set up to provide jobs, and it was the employees who had walked out without completing their jobs. “We can only pay after they have worked for six months. Not much work has been done yet. How can we pay them?” he said.
