KATHMANDU: UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Tuesday urged Prime Minister Jhala Nath Khanal not to resign without a concrete agreement among parties on forming a national consensus government. According to a source, Dahal advised the PM not to resign immediately as demanded by the NC and Madhes-based parties.
4 women scale Annapurna
POKHARA: Four Nepali women successfully conquered Mt Annapurna IV on Tuesday morning. They reached the peak of the 7,525-metre Annapurna at 5:15 am. Nirma Rai (30) and Shantikala Rai (28) of Solukhumbu, Saraswoti BK (27) of Kaski and Munu Gurung (24) of Manang scaled the mountain.
FNJ lauds court verdict
KATHMANDU: The Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) and Working Women Journalists on Tuesday welcomed the Bara District Court’s verdict that sentenced two persons to life term for their involvement in the abduction and subsequent murder of of journalist Birendra Shah four years ago.

KATHMANDU: Bhakta Kumar Rai, dubbed “Supreme Master Godangle”, whom his followers believe having supernatural powers, returned to Kathmandu after his successful mediation atop Mt Everest for ‘a record 27 hours’. On May 20, Rai stayed atop Everest for 32 hours, of which he spent 27 hours meditating for peace.
Anger spills onto highway
KAVRE: Local people of Nasikasthan, Kavre, disrupted traffic along Araniko Highway on Tuesday following a road accident in which a pedestrian was killed. Bhim Bahadur Madhikarmi died on the spot when a Banepa-bound truck hit him in the morning.
