Nepal Literature Festival: Day 1
Aug 16, 2011-The official inauguration of the Ncell Nepal Literature Festival, an ‘international literary extravaganza’, will be held tomorrow at the Gyan Mandala in Jhamsikhel.
The program will begin at 11 am and will feature a number of speeches before launching into specified literary discussions and readings later in the afternoon.
According to Festival Director Ajit Baral, a crowd of around 5,000 are expected to attend the four-day festival, running between Aug 18-21. “We’ve set the festival to coincide with Tourism Year with the intent of bringing Nepali literature and writers into the focus of the world at large,” says Baral. “We hope that this event will recreate new interest in the field of literature.”
