Gaurishankar enter quarters

KATHMANDU: Gaurishankar School entered the quarter-finals in the girls’ category of the Saipal 3on3 Basketball Championship following their hat-trick of win over Hope Valley, Celebration and Deneb on Monday. Meanwhile, host Saipal ‘A’ registered a 10-7 win over their compatriots Saipal ‘B’ to enter the pre-quarter finals in the boys’ category.

In other matches, New Vision ‘B’ defeated Nawajeewan 3-1, Galaxy ‘A’ won their match against Alok 5-2 and Sudesha outclassed Angel Lords 6-2.

Sound TT training kicks off

KATHMANDU: The sound table tennis training camp for the visually impaired enthusiasts, kicked off at Laboratory School in Kirtipur on Monday. The camp is jointly organised by District Development Committee, Kathmandu and Nepal Blind Table Tennis Association, targeting the visually impaired youths from Kirtipur municipality. The camp consists of 20 participants, including 10 girls,’ under the guidance of trainer Kumar Paudel and Raju Maharjan.   

Junior chess begins

Lalitpur: Milan Lama of Annapurna High School, Mahesh Khadka and Sujan Dahal of Everst Academy, Kailali and Nirmal Thapa of New Moonlight, Kaski jointly shared lead after the first round of the First National School Sports U-12 chess championship on Monday.      

In U-14 category, Neeraj Gimire of Greenland, Remi Maharjan of Annapurna, Isha Thapa of Swarnim and Anu Ghimire of Living Stone are sharing top position.
