Dahal for transforming Maoist party
Apr 26, 2014-
UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has admitted that the party may be on the verge of a crisis if the leaders do not mend their working style, stressing the need to transform to save the party from splitting further.
Addressing the Kathmandu district convention of the party on Saturday, Dahal said the failure to implement the guidelines of the Hetauda Convention had created problems for the party.
Furthermore, the Maoist chairman remarked that the ones who are more interested to seek positions in the party’s Standing Committee, Politburo and Central Committee rather than working for the benefit of the party should leave for other parties. “It is better to have a small party than a large party with minimal work,” Dahal added.
Dahal also expressed dissatisfaction towards the government in its handling of tasks related to peace process and federalism. The Maoist party will likely down-size party structures during the national convention.
