Slovak missing in Everest region

Princzkel Thomas, a Hungarian-speaking Slova-kian citizen, has been missing for more than a week in the Everest region. Thomas was last seen in Dingboche on April 21. It was his third visit to Nepal, as part of a bike ride around the world.

Authorities in Nepal have been searching for the Slovak, Boris Gandel, Slovakia’s Foreign Ministry spokesman said. On April 25-26, a helicopter was deployed to search for him, with the son of the Slovak honorary consul in Kathmandu on board. He stayed in a local hotel in Dingboche on April 20. The next day he came to have breakfast or lunch.

On April 22, the owner looked at the room, but he was not there. Subsequently, the owner suspecting his disappearance notified the local police. The police opened the room and then found his equipment and personal belongings there.

Gandel said his cell phone is ringing but no one picks up. Gandel said that the embassy is working with local authorities to find the whereabouts.
