Blood shortage acute in Mugu, Banke

Hansadevi Saud of Rowa VDC in the district, who has been admitted to the District Hospital due to excessive bleeding while giving birth two weeks ago, is battling for life due to the lack of A+ blood she requires.
Dr Prashant Kadel said Saud has developed a respiratory problem due to the lack of the blood and that her situation is serious. He said she is finding it hard to breastfeed her child for the past two weeks and that she needs at least three pints of blood. Til Bahadur Malla, chairman of Mugu chapter of Red Cross, said they are searching for blood for Saud. Laxu Buda of Rowa also lost her life reportedly due to the lack of blood last year. Meanwhile, patients in Nepalgunj are also facing an acute shortage of blood. Dipak BC of Bageshwori VDC in Banke, who admitted his niece to the Nepalgunj Teaching Hospital, said he is is yet to find blood required for her.
