The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has drawn the attention of the authorities concerned towards the ongoing protests by over 600 students at the Gwarko-based KIST Medical College in Lalitpur.

Issuing a statement on Tuesday, the human rights watchdog said the college has been shut while its administration has threatened students to move out of the hostel in the next 24 hours shutting the main gate. The NHRC has urged the Ministry of Health and Population, Institute of Medicine, Nepal Medical Council and the management committee of the concerned college to end the crisis soon.
