Adhikari couple’s health ‘deteriorates’

- POST REPORT, Kathmandu

Jul 16, 2014-

The Bir Hospital has stopped administering intravenous nutrition supplement to Nanda Prasad Adhikari and his wife Ganga Maya of Gorkha, who have been staging hunger strike at the hospital for the past 264 days demanding justice over the murder of their son Krishna Prasad Adhikari.

According to the Bir Hospital sources, the Hanuman Medical Concern that has been supplying the nutrition supplement has cut its supply as the hospital has been unable to clear its due amount of around Rs 2.3 million. The government had decided to bear all the treatment cost of Adhikari couple after they resumed their fast-unto-death at the hospital demanding action against the murderers of their son. Nineteen-year-old Krishna of Fujel in Gorkha, was abducted from Chitwan in June 2004 by the then Maoist rebels and was subsequently killed.
