- POST REPORT, Kathmandu

Aug 4, 2014-

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sushil Koirala has been unwell since Sunday, developing a cough, said one of his close aides.

Koirala returned from the United States on July 22 after receiving treatment for lungs cancer that included five radiotherapy sessions at the New York-based Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

He reported discomfort on Sunday evening while hosting a banquet in honour of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, said a participant. Koirala was having difficulties in breathing and delivering his speech. He was unable to attend the luncheon hosted by President Ram Baran Yadav on Monday. He is said to be taking rest under doctors’ care. Koirala, however, reached the Tribhuvan International Airport in the evening to see off his Indian counterpart. His personal physician Dr Karbir Nath Yogi declined comments. (PR)
