Keshav Adhikari, one of the aspirants of AIG, lodged a writ petition at the apex court today arguing that the promotion was against police Act.
A meeting of the Council of Ministers yesterday had promoted nice DIGs to AIGs. Rajendra Singh Bhandari, Surendra Bahadur Shah, Bigyan Raj Sharma, Pratap Singh Thapa, Birendra Babu Shrestha, Ramesh Shekhar Bajracharya, Kedar Saud, Ganesh Rai and Narayan Bastakoti have become AIGs as per the Cabinet decision.
The Prime Ministers Office, Home Ministry and Police Headquarters have been named as the defendants in the writ. The writ further demanded the implementation of the recommendation made by the DIG promotion committee.
