New Hyundai Xcent rolled out

KATHMANDU: Laxmi Inter Continental, authorised distributor of Hyundai, has launched the Xcent premium compact sedan. The Xcent will be available in three variants—Base, S and SX (O)—and comes with 1.2litre Kappa Dual VTVT petrol engine that delivers a maximum power of 83ps at 6000rpm and torque of 11.6kgm at 4000rpm. The petrol engine comes with 5-speed manual transmission. The company claims the vehicle provides mileage of 19.1 kmpl. Its main features include key-less push button start, auto-folding mirror and rear parking camera, smart key. The company said the Xcent will create a new benchmark in terms of quality, design, space, features and driving pleasure in the compact sedan segment as it is developed with the best of Hyundai Motor’s world-class technologies. According to company, the vehicle will be available in six colour options. The prices range from Rs 2.4 million to Rs 3.1 million. (PR)

Berger laucnhes promotional scheme

KATHMANDU: Berger has launched “Dhumdham Sanga Griha Prawesh” scheme on the occasion of the festive season. It has appointed actress Garima Pant as the campaign ambassador. Under the scheme, customers buying Berger paints will get various prizes. After the registration, representatives of Berger will provide free painting guide, free digital preview, free technical consultancy and free colour consultancy by interior designers. Shrestha named NYEF committee prez

KATHMANDU: The 10th annual general meeting of the Nepalese Young Entrepreneurs’ Forum (NYEF) has elected Niranjan Shrestha as the new committee president. Similarly, Mangesh Lal Shrestha and Varun Lohia became the first and second vice presidents, respectively. Samir Thapa, Sudarshan Basnet, Meele Shrestha, Ritesh Lamichhane, Udeep Shrestha and Ajay Shrestha have been elected as executive members. “NYEF will continue its initiative to aid in creation of a positive and prosperous Nepal, and strive to be an exemplary organization working in the field of entrepreneurship,” said a statement. Sunrise Bank opens extension counter

KATHMANDU: Sunrise Bank has opened its first extension counter on the premises of BP Koirala Health Science Foundation, Dharan. Vice- chancellor of the Foundation Balbhadra Prasad Das inaugurated the branch. The bank also aims to open an ATM centre soon. SEA bid to help disaster victims

KATHMANDU: SEA Engineering Academy has decided to provide more than 100 desks and benches for students who have survived the disaster in Sindhupalchok district. In a statement, the academy hoped that this small gesture would contribute to the resumption of the school activities. “This initiative will help the children who have survived the disaster do not have to be deprived of education.” (PR)

KATHMANDU: Samsara Money Transfer, a subsidiary of Citizens Bank, has joined hands with Easy Link. Citizens Deputy CEO Bodhraj Devkota, Samsara Executive Vice-chairman Jivan Babu Shrestha and Easy Link Managing Director Dipendra Khanal signed an agreement to this effect.
