First Nepal-UK consultation meeting held

The first meeting of the Bilateral Consultation Mechanism between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Nepal and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office of the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland was held in Kathmandu on Wednesday.

 The meeting was held in an open cordial atmosphere, with both Nepal and the United Kingdom keen to build on the deep friendship and mutual respect between the two countries, read the statement.

During the meeting, discussions were held on enhancing partnership between Nepal and UK on global issues such as climate change, peacekeeping, human rights, WTO, etc.

Views were also exchanged on the upcoming bicentenary of bilateral relations, the UK’s development partnership with Nepal, promotion of trade and investment, cooperation on education and tourism and British Gurkhas.
