Police in Qatar have remanded eight Nepali migrant workers arrested for the murder of four people, including three Nepali and one Indian national, in custody for investigation. “Eight Nepalis are arrested and under investigation for separate charges of murder,” said Labour Attaché Indra Dev Pandey.
Police had arrested them for the murder of Nepali nationals, Nabin Chandra Karki, Bhim Sunuwar, Sunil Mandal and one Indian national. Among the arrested, four were held for the murder of the Indian national. “While one confessed to the murder, other three have claimed to have been mere spectators to the crime,” Pandey said.
While two were arrested for the alleged murder of Nabin Chandra, other two were held for separate murders of Bhim Sunuwar and Sunil Mandal. Officials at the Nepali Embassy stated that they were trying to remain updated about any new developments in the case.
Meanwhile, Kushal Karki, hailing from Pauwagadha-1 in Syangja, who was sentenced to death after being found guilty for the murder of Mohammed Irshad Ansari of Jaleshwor-13, has appealed to a higher court seeking mutual agreement with the deceased’s family. A local court had sentenced Karki to death on March 31.
