Golden Gate ease to double victory

KATHMANDU: Golden Gate registered double victory in the Ruslan Big Bucks 3X3 Basketball Tournament on Tuesday. Golden Gate ‘A’ eased to a 21-15 victory over Pentagon-B with 13 points from Joel Bartoli. Golden Gate ‘B’ edged White House ‘A’ 18-17. In other men’s matches, G-One and U-16 national filed victories. In the women’s section, Golden Gate ‘A’ pipped White House 11-10 but their ‘B’ team lost 4-7 to Prime. Morgan crushed The Triple Treat 16-3. (PR)

Odyssey claim Monsoon Meet

KATHMANDU:  Odyssey, Innovative English School and TIA lifted the junior boys’, senior boys’ and girls’ champions in the Shridiwa Monsoon Meet Inter-school 3x3 Basketball Tournament on Tuesday. Odyssey beat Innovative 19-9 in the junior boy’s final. In the senior boys’ Innovative saw off Sambotta 15-6, while TIA defeated Sambotta 10-4 in the girls’ final. Lama (junior), Ashish Basnet (senior) and Akriti Gurung (girls’) were adjudged the MVPs. (PR)

HHCA crowned champions

KATHMANDU: Himalayan Helpless Children Academy (HHCA) were crowned the champions of the Greenland Inter-school Basketball Tournament on Tuesday. HHCA edged Greenland 47-30 in the senior boys’ final. Likewise, Odyssey defeated Golden Peak 25-18 to seal junior boys’ title. Rupesh Khadka (senior) and Subash Karki (junior) of Greenland were named the MVPs.  (PR)

Maldivian spikers arrive for friendly

KATHMANDU: The women’s volleyball team from Maldives arrived here on Tuesday. Maldives are here to play a friendly tournament which begins from Thursday. The three-day event will see Maldives playing Nepal Red and Blue at the NSC covered hall. NVA officials welcomed the visitors at TIA. (PR)
