Aarogya brings in machine to aid organ transplantation
Sep 20, 2014-
The Aarogya Foundation has introduced a new machine that would help measure the quantity of drugs taken by any organ recipient on Saturday.
The Tacrolimus-level measuring facility was inaugurated by CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli at the Foundation in Pulchowk, Lalitpur.
According to the foundation, the facility will help ensure successful acceptance of transplanted organs by the body. “To fill in this gap, Aarogya established this facility with the most advanced technology with founding chairperson of Aarogya Foundation Ani Choying Drolma donating Rs 3.5 million,” the foundation stated.
The foundation in 2011 had begun Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) testing lab in Nepal for the first time. HLA testing is vital to the success of any organ transplantation.
