Officials asked to fulfil Sisdole folk’s demand

The Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers (OPMCM) on Wednesday directed the Ministry of Urban Development and Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development (MoFALD) to implement the past agreements reached with local communities at Sisdole landfill site after local residents submitted a memorandum threatening to halt the disposal of collected municipal wastes in the area from Friday.

An OPMCM meeting, which was attended by representatives of concerned ministries and the Kathmandu Metropolitan City, also directed the authorities to construct the alternative landfill site at Bancharedanda in Nuwakot at the earliest. The meeting also directed the Ministry of Physical Planning and Works and the MoFALD to develop infrastructures, including roads, in the project-affected areas in Bancharedanda.

Likewise, the meeting also decided to complete the construction and upgradation of the Tinpiple-Sisdole road.
