Regan lifts snooker title

KATHMANDU: Regan Shrestha lifted the first Rangashala Open Snooker Tournament title on Wednesday. Shrestha defeated Lobsang Lama 70-19, 93-34, 78-34, 52-56, 33-85, 71-44, 20-77, 71-41, 10-81, 86-49 in the best of 11 final. Alok Yonjan defeated Dipjal Dhungana to win the third place match. The top three finishers received Rs 20,000, Rs 10,000 and Rs 5000 respectively. Lama was named the best breaker with 62 break points that earned him Rs 2500. (PR)


Golden Gate to meet Pentagon

KATHMANDU: Golden Gate on Wednesday set the first Sanjay Singh Memorial Open Basketball Tournament final meeting with Pentagon. Golden Gate defeated White House 97-58 in their final league match to accumulate eight points from four matches. Pentagon were already through with seven points, while White House ended up with six points. The final is scheduled for September 27. (PR)


Chabahil reach football quarters

KATHMANDU: Hosts Chabahil Sports Club ‘A’ advanced to the quarter-finals of the second Dashain Cup Six-a-side Football Tournament on Wednesday. Chabahil defeated Ideal College 4-3 in tie breakers after the regulation time ended in a 1-1 stalemate. In other matches of the day, Order Mark hammered Narayan Chowk Youth Club 5-1 and African United eased past Lucky Boys 3-0 to join the hosts in the quarter-finals. (PR)
