"The elephants have damaged crops worth an estimated Rs 1.7 million," said Krishna Chandra Adhikari, the Chief District Officer (CDO).
"My crops have been destroyed with the onset of its harvest," Dirgha Bahadur Singh, a local farmer, grieved.
While the farmers from Maatiya, Janakbasti, Bichfaat from Punarbash municipality and adjacent municipalities' areas like Fatiya, Motipur, Shantipur, among others, have been lamenting at the loss of their crops, CDO Adhikari informed that the government compensates the victim provided they submit an investigation report that is verified by police.
Similarly, the Area Police Office said that they have already prepared an investigation report about the damages done by these wild beasts. RSS
