Hearing committee member Rabindra Adhikari said the session is scheduled to start at 8am in Singha Durbar. Two complaints have been filed against the nominee so far.
“Lawmakers will seek Shah's explanation over the complaints. He may be questioned on other concerns too if deemed necessary,” said Adhikari.
On September 12, the Constitutional Council recommended senior Justice Shah as the next chief of the judiciary. The recommendation upheld the tradition to promote senior most justice to head the Supreme Court.
Shah, upon clearing the hearing, will replace Chief Justice Damodar Prasad Sharma, who retires on October 10. Shah’s tenure will be of less than nine months.
