The Office of the Controller of Examinations (OCE) of Higher Secondary Education Board (HSEB) published the results of grade 12 for management, education, and Humanities streams on Sunday, after over a month of delay.

According to the OCE, 39.04 percent of students passed the examinations under regular category, an increase of one percent compared to last year. Of the 191,496 students who took  the examinations, a total of 74, 764 passed the exams.

Likewise, 29.99 percent of 136,155 students, who had appeared in the test under the exempted category, secured pass marks. The OCE which had announced to publish the results on Saturday had cancelled the plan in the last hour, citing technical error in the system. The results which had to be published in August was delayed following the protest of the staffers from the HSEB. Over two dozen senior officials are on protest against the HSEB decision to promote Durga Prasad Aryal the new joint-secretary when there were other senior candidates eligible for the job.

Meanwhile, the guardian associations and the students were also on protest demanding timely publication of the results. The HSEB had conducted the grade 12 exams in May for all the streams and published the results of science faculty three weeks ago. Hundreds of students pursuing for their higher studies in various universities have been affected by the delay in result publication.
