Norwegian embassy to support flood hit Children

The Royal Norwegian Embassy in Nepal has pledged its support to construct
15 temporary learning centres for the children affected by floods in the mid-western region.
The Norwegian embassy in Kathmandu announced on Friday that it will be collaborating with Save the Children, an international child rights organisation, to build the learning centres that is expected to benefit around 6,100 children in different districts in mid-western region .
According to Save the Children, around 180 schools and 100 early learning centres in the region were destroyed by floods in August this year. The Norwegian embassy and Save the Children will also be working together to build 20 early child development and child-friendly safe spaces in the region.
Continuation of education in times of emergency and natural disaster can save lives and contribute to build resilience in the affected communities, said Norwegian Ambassador Kjell Tormod , pledging support for the flood hit children.
