6 killed in Bara road accident

Six people died and 25 others were injured when a passenger bus collided head-on with a truck at Amalekhgunj-8 along Pathalaiya-Hetauda road stretch in the district on Wednesday. Five among the injured are in critical condition.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Rabindra Regmi said that a Pathalaiya-bound truck hit a bus coming from the opposite direction while overtaking a tanker. According to an eyewitness, the truck slightly touched the tanker and hit the bus that was heading towards Kathmandu.
“Truck driver Sudip Khadka of Sarlahi has been taken into custody for investigation as it seemed that the incident happened due to the abject negligence of the truck,” he said.
Five victims died on the spot while another succumbed to injuries during treatment.
The deceased have been identified as bus driver Sarbajit Prasad Yadav, Kunta Devi and Amrit Kumar Sah of Bara and Laxmi Tamang and her 12-year-old son Prabesh of Dhading.
The identity of a woman in her mid-fifties is yet to be ascertained.
The injured were rushed to Birgunj and Bharatpur for treatment.
