Govt appoints VC in two universities

The government appointed vice-chancellors in Pokhara University and Lumbini Buddhist University on Friday. Prime Minister Sushil Koirala, in his capacity of the chancellor of the universities, appointed Bishnu Raj Tiwari and Naresh Man Bajracharya as the vice-chancellors of Pokhara University and Lumbini Buddhist University, respectively.  

Tiwari, who is a professor of microbiology, will replace Khagendra Prasad Bhattarai as the vice-chancellor of Pokhara University. Bhattarai and 22 other senior officals from Pokhara University had lost their jobs after they were accused of corruption by the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority.

The government appointed Bajracharya the new vice-chancellor of Lumbini Buddhist University following retirement of the incumbent, Tri Ratna Manandhar. Bajracharya is a professor at the Department of Buddhist Study in Tribhuvan University.
