Teachers resign as CIAA starts investigation
Nov 30, 2014-
Teachers suspected to have possessed fake academic certificates have started resigning from their job in the district after the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) initiated probe into the matter. According to Morang District Education Office, 36 teachers have already resigned from their posts so far after the CIAA began its investigation. “Following the CIAA move, schoolteachers have started resigning citing health problems,” said Dibyaraj Kattel, acting district education officer. He, however, denied sharing names of the teachers who resigned.
Dinanath Timsina, vice-chairman of the All Nepal Teachers’ Organisation, said some teachers in question are backed by some political party leaders, thus retaining their jobs. He said they have sent details of academic certificates of schools
in Urlabari, Tandi, Tankisinwari, Janapath and Bahuni to the CIAA office. Earlier, the CIAA filed a case against teachers Kripananda Lal Das, Narendra Dhungel, Hikmat Thapa, Uttamlal Pandit, Bina Mahato, Ram Narayan Mahato and Abdhkumar Singh on the charge of holding fake certificates.
