- POST REPORT, Kathmandu

Dec 8, 2014-

Meteorologists have forecast rains and snowstorm in high altitude districts in the next few days.

The change in local weather system has been observed throughout the country since Monday afternoon with scattered clouds hovering over the skies. “It is likely to be partly cloudy in the hills and thick fog is likely to occur at a few places in the Tarai region for a few days,” said Shanti Kandel, a meteorologist at the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) on Monday. With the onset of winter, the day temperatures across the country are decreasing gradually and foggy mornings are being observed in various Tarai districts in the recent days. On Monday, Dipayal in the Far-western region recorded the highest temperature at 26.2 degree Celsius while Jumla in the Mid-western region recorded the lowest day temperature at (-3.1) degree Celsius among the 18 meteorological stations.

Foggy mornings and cold waves have affected normal life across the country, especially in Tarai districts for the past few days. Several morning flights to and from Tarai districts were affected.
