Ensure integrity: PM to police

Prime Minister Sushil Koirala has said that monetary deals during the promotion and transfer of police officials have tainted the essence of the police organisation and directed the authorities concerned to maintain a higher degree of integrity and competence.
Inaugurating a two-day conference of senior Nepal Police officials in Kathmandu on Thursday, Koirala expressed hope that conference will come up with better plans to enhance the police organisation. The conference attended by 75 police officials, including regional and zonal chiefs, will revolve around the challenges and reform in police service and review the situation of crimes and investigations in the country
Addressing the programme, Home Minister Bam Dev Gautam said the platform will help police figure out their weaknesses and improve their role in the society. He said Ministry of Home Affairs will always support Nepal Police and help strengthen the organisation.
