Permanent teachers to assume job
Dec 17, 2014-
Over three dozen newly-selected permanent teachers in Kathmandu who were waiting for their posting for five months will be deployed to their respective schools from Thursday.
Their posting was ensured following frequent directives from the District Education Office to appoint the newly-selected teachers. A number of public schools had not allowed the teachers to assume their job following pressure from various teachers’ associations. The teachers associations were against the posting, saying that it would force temporary teachers out of their jobs.
Tapta Bahadur Rawat, coordinator of the newly-selected permanent teachers’ struggle committee, said all stakeholders have reached an agreement to adjust the temporary teachers even after the appointment of the permanent ones. Of 289 teachers selected through free competition in the district, 38 primary level teachers are yet to get posting in concerned schools.
