Chand, who broke away from CPN-Maoist recently, extorted Rs 6 million from the operator of Narpani Limestone Industry, CPN-Maoist district coordinator Baburam Ghimire told a press conference on Saturday. The industry remained closed for the past three years.
Ghimire said that Bhusal had extorted Rs 1.5 million from a lawmaker, with a false promise to support him in the 2013 Constituent Assembly elections. Both Chand and Bhusal, according to Ghimire, were associated with the mother party when the 'extortion' took place. Bhusal said that he had collected the amount as donation to run the mother party.
