Thapa-led chariot rally untimely: Lawoti

- POST REPORT, Kathmandu

Dec 27, 2014-

A dissident faction of Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal (RPP-N) led by Padma Sundar Lawoti has criticised party Chairman Kamal Thapa for evading the constitution making process in the name of ‘Chariot Procession.’

The faction has claimed that starting the procession just a month before the January 22 deadline for the constitution promulgation smacks of Thapa’s dishonesty and deception. The pro-Hindu party had launched ‘Mechi-Mahakali Chariot Procession’ from Kakadvitta on Wednesday with an objective to revive Nepal as a Hindu state.

“We want Nepal to be a Hindu state. However, this is not the right time to start the procession. It should have been done much earlier,” Lawoti said.

The 10-day procession will conclude in Kathmandu next week after traversing 1,929 km across the country. (PR)
