- POST REPORT, Kathmandu

Jan 21, 2015-

Women leaders representing the ruling political parties and their sister organisations have urged their party leaderships to adopt a new constitution through two-third majority if consensus efforts eludes.

Organising a press conference in the Capital on Wednesday, they warned of protests if the parties fail on their responsibility to promulgate the constitution on time. Dila Sangraula, chairperson of the Nepali Congress-aligned Nepal Women Association, said that the political parties should make every effort for consensus to issue the constitution. Bidhya Bhandari, chairperson of the CPN-UML-affiliated All Nepal Women Association, blamed the UCPN (Maoist) for hindering the constitution writing process. There is a need exerting collective pressure from all sides to give momentum to the moribund constitution making process, she said.
