Nepal urged to accede to Rome Statute
Feb 6, 2015-
The New York-based Coalition for the International Criminal Court on Friday called on Nepal to accede to the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court and establish the values of justice and accountability as foundations for the post-conflict constitution.
In a statement addressed to PM Sushil Koirala, Amielle Del Rosario, Asia-Pacific coordinator for the Coalition, said the Interim Constitution, the 12-point agreement and the Comprehensive Peace Accord are important advances due to their references to human rights and accountability but concrete steps towards ensuring accountability ave not yet been taken despite commitments by politicians and relentless calls from civil society.
