Bhimsengola stretch opens

Feb 16, 2015-

The Old Baneshwor-Sinamangal road has been opened nearly seven months after it was closed off for construction.

Resumption of traffic along the 400-metre Bhimsengola stretch will ease the traffic pressure on the inner roads that were serving as alternative routes.

According to Prabhat Jha, chief at the Kathmandu Valley Road Implementation Project, the sub-base on the road has been laid and it is suitable for any vehicle to ply on. “ We had faced immense criticism for the delay in the construction of this road, but now most of the things have been fixed and even the Melamchi pipeline has been installed” Jha said.

He added that the work of laying base and black-topping the road will begin after a few months.
