Nepal SBI’s new deposit schemes

KATHMANDU: Nepal SBI Bank has launched three new savings deposit schemes—NSBL Baal Bachat Khata, Karnadhaar Bachat Khata and NSBL Combo Savings Scheme. The NSBL Baal Bachat Khata and Karnadhaar Bachat Khata are targeted at children aged below 16. The schemes are expected to help guardians inculcate banking habits in their children. Both the accounts can be opened with a minimum balance of Rs 501 and offer an interest of 3 percent per annum calculated on daily balance and payable quarterly. The Combo Savings Scheme is a merged variant of normal saving account (Savings Bank – Public) and NSBL Mobile Banking Scheme, which can be opened at zero balance. In this account, customer will get free internet banking service, free cheque book and higher interest rate than normal saving account. (PR)

Celkon mobile phones launched

KATHMANDU: Next Generation Enterprise Solutions, authorised distributor of Celkon in Nepal, has launched around a dozen mobile phones. They are the Q455, Q500 Ultra, Q5, A20, A354C, A115, C5S, C609 Star, C5 Plus and C344. The company provides a one-year warranty on mobile set and six-month replacement warranty on battery. The phones will be available through its two dozen distributors across the country. (PR)

Sky Cable starts digital TV service

KATHMANDU: Sky Cable has started digital TV service under the theme of “Think Digital, Think Sky”. Customer will be able to watch more than 80 channels with analog or digital options through one cable. The digital TV will offer clearer picture and sound. The company also plans to launch HD channels. (PR)

SMGBS MBA programme

KATHMANDU: Silver Mountain Graduate Business School (SMGBS) has launched a new MBA programme in collaboration with Queen Margaret University (QMU), UK. The curriculum for the programme is designed by QMU and is approved by the Ministry of Education. Students can also benefit from credit transfer facility available to various universities and colleges in countries including the USA, the UK, Australia, Netherlands, Malaysia, India and Belgium.
