National team skipper Sagar Thapa received a moral boosting incentive from Mega Bank CEO Anil Keshari Shah ahead of Nepal’s Fifa World Cup 2018 qualifier against India later this month.

Shah handed Thapa a cheque of Rs 1,00,000  on Sunday in appreciation for a ‘wonder goal’ that he scored in the dying moments against Bangladesh during the 2011 Saff Championship held in New Delhi. The goal also ensured Nepal beat Bangladesh 1-0 and enter the semi-finals of the prestigious regional championship after 18 years.

The national team is currently undergoing preparation for the preliminary round of qualification for the 2018 World Cup where they play India in two legs. Nepal will travel to India for March 12 game before welcoming their neighbours in Kathmandu five days later.
