Rains, snow hit life across districts

Heavy rain and burying snow continued to affect normal life across the country on Monday, with more impact felt in the mountain districts in far-western and eastern regions.

On Monday, all 19 meteorological stations across the country recorded rains, with Dadeldhura in the Far-West witnessing highest at 54.3 millimetres. Likewise, Dharan in the eastern region experienced lowest at one millimetre during the same period, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD).
Continuous rain for the past three days has affected local transportation and electricity networks along hilly districts, including Dadeldhura, Baitadi and Doti, on Monday.
“The weather has started improving from Monday afternoon in many places in the eastern and central regions. Except for a few high-altitude areas in the Far-West, local weather would start improving from Tuesday afternoon,” said Subash Rimal, a meteorologist with the MFD.
