HR Meet slated for March 26

HR Meet 2015 is scheduled to be held on March 26 in Kathmandu. The conference, which is in its eighth edition, will feature two international experts, Naseer Khan, Indian motivational speaker, and Sujaya Banerjee, a human resource professional.

Shekhar Golchha, vice-president of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), will also speak.

Mohan Ojha, chairman of the HR Meet Coordination Committee, said on Wednesday the meet is aimed at strengthening Nepal’s human capital, provide a common platform to learn and share various ideas of human resources.

“As more and more investment projects are coming from foreign and national investors, it is high time that we developed skilled manpower in the country,” he said, adding that the event would also discuss how to stop brain drain.

Growth Sellers has been organising the event every year. This year’s theme is Managing Talent, Managing HR.

The resource persons will interact with 200 participants from different sectors including financial institutions, NGOs, INGOs, corporate houses and government offices. Selected participants will be allowed to make presentations during the event which the organiser believes will encourage them to push forward their ideas through the forum.

The organiser will also felicitate an outstanding HR Manager with the title of BeeHRMHR Manager of the Year 2014 during the meet. Growth Sellers has published a notice for open nomination for the award which includes a cash prize of Rs 50,000.

Meanwhile, Ojha handed over a cheque for Rs 25,000 to the Society of Economic Journalists Nepal (Sejon) from the proceeds of the HR Meet as an annual commitment that started three years ago for the development of the associates of Sejon.

The organiser has fixed the registration fee for participants at Rs 6,500. The event will be held at the Everest Hotel, New Baneshwor.
