3 killed, 36 hurt in accidents

Three people died and four others were injured in separate road accidents on Friday.
Tejnath Adhikari, 45, of Biratnagar-5 died and pillion rider Junu Dhakal, 33, was injured when a motorcycle was hit by a truck with Indian registration number (UP 61 L 1116) at Pipal Chowk in Biratnagar.
Similarly, Mohammed Atabul, 40, of Siraha died when a motorcycle he was riding was hit by an Jeep with Indian number plate in Kusaha, Saptari, on Thursday night.
Mohamad Narul, 21, who sustained serious injuries in the incident, is being treated at the Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Science. Likewise, Sankhar Chaudhary of Sunsari died when two motorcycles (Ko 17 Pa 3648 and Ko 10 Pa 5250) collided in Itahari.
In another report, 30 students and two teachers were injured when a school bus belonging to New Lekhnath Public School met with an accident at Nahar Chowk in Pokhara on Friday.
Most of the students injured in the accident ranged between the age of seven to 16 years, police said.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Kedar Rajaure, nine students are undergoing treatment at the Western Regional Hospital, five at Manipal Teaching Hospital and one at Metro City Hospital.
Meanwhile, 17 students have returned home after receiving preliminary treatment at Lekhnath Community Hospital.
While school teacher, Hariraj Adhikari said that there were 40 students inside the bus at the time of the incident, eye witnesses accounts suggested that the bus might have tipped over due to excessive speed.
