Japanese experts in Kathmandu

A 34-member medical team from the Japan Disaster Relief’s medical unit is working in Nepal and supporting local medics in performing x-rays, surgeries, medical check-ups and lab tests in Barahbise, Sindhupalchok.
The team arrived on Friday as a replacement for the earlier team and will be staying in the country for two weeks. A total of 114 personnel from Japan Self-defence Force Unit have also been assigned to Kathmandu to assist the Nepal Army. A separate Japanese mission has also arrived to assist the government in formulating different policies and programmes.
