Quake victims of some villages and settlements in Dhiyal VDC which are located at the border of Makawanpur and Rautahat districts have been unable to get any relief materials due to the ongoing border dispute.

Local residents of bordering Rajuwa, Dangdunge, Mahadevdanda, Bijayabasti and Morange settlements of Dhiyal-5 and 6 complain that  though around 50 houses were damaged by the Great quake in their area, no one was listed as quake-hit people in Dhiyal VDC.

“We had immediately informed the VDC Secretary of Dhiyal, but no one has visited us,” he said, adding that a majority of houses built with mud and stone in the area were damaged in the quake.

Dhiyal VDC Secretary Bikash Singh Pradhan said relief materials could not be provided to earthquake victims in those settlements as they were not listed in Dhiyal VDC. Dhiyal VDC considers these settlements to fall in Rautahat district. The victims of the aforementioned  settlements complained that as they had been left in lurch as their names were not registered as quake-victims in both the districts, depriving them of relief.
