Radio Kantipur music show cheers nepalis

Radio Kantipur organised Prayas: Pariwartan ka lagi Sangeet, a day-long musical extravaganza, on May 26, in an attempt to uplift the people’s morale in the aftermath of the recent quakes.

The programme opened with Aani Choying Dolma performing some of her songs and prayers. Speaking about the programme, Dolma said, “We are all in a state of trauma after the quake. I hope that music helps us to gain back our strength. I want to thank Radio Kantipur for providing this opportunity.”

Along with Dolma, the show also featured Kutumba, Satya Raj Acharya and Swarup Raj Acharya, Ram Krishna Dhakal, Milan Amatya, Uday and Manila Sotang, Kamal Khatri, Nirnaya da NSK, Girish and friends, Dharmendra Sewan, Shreya Sotang, Lochan Rijal, Pramod Kharel, Sugam Pokharel, Night, Underside, Tumbleweed, 1974 AD, Mukti N Revival and Robin N The New Revolution, whose performance brought the show to a close at 8 pm.

The artists also shared personal experiences on how to heal from the disaster and work towards nation rebuilding. “We had been thinking about contributing to helping the people get back on their feet post-quake. And we came to the conclusion that music could play a vital role in inspiring the people to rebuild the nation,” said programme co-ordinator Raymon Das Shrestha.

The programme ran from 8am to 8pm.
