Tokyo Mission raises Rs 24m for PM fund

Nepali Embassy in Japan has wired an additional 24 million yen (Rs 24 million) for the Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund through its social contacts and public relations network for the reconstruction projects in the face of the devastating April 24 earthquake. The latest transfer on Thursday has taken the mission’s total deposit to the fund to over 216 million yen (Rs 216 million). “Reflecting excellent state of bilateral ties of friendship and co-operation between Nepal and Japan, the embassy is highly encouraged by such an enthusiastic response made by friends and well-wishers of Nepal to help Nepal in its post-disaster rehabilitation, reconstruction and recovery phase,” the mission said in a statement.
