NAMD helps cope with trauma

The Nepal Academy of Music and Drama is conducting different programmes across the country to help the society move towards normalcy. The academy, on Tuesday, organised cultural programmes simultaneously at three different places within the Valley: at Bhotahity, Patan and at the Mt Everest English Boarding School in Bhaktapur.

The programme, titled Cultural Campaign on Earthquake-2072, ran for about 45 minutes, during which a drama was staged. The play not only entertained the audience, but also provided awareness about the earthquake. During the programme, artists like Manju Thapa, Aashakaji Shrestha and Uday Shrestha took to the stage. The programme also saw the participation of writers Sharubhakta and Shyam Tamot and musician Shambhujit Banskota.

The academy has already organised programmes in 18 places including Okhaldhunga, Solukhumbu, Khotang, Udayapur, Sindhuli, Ramechhap, Kavre, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur.
