Fund arrives from HK

Natives of Lamjung living in Hong Kong have collected Rs1 million to assist in building back their place of origin.The amount collected from individuals was handed over to the District Disaster Relief Fund.
Lamjung Service Committee’s advisor Yam Bahadur Gurung handed over the cheque to chief district officer Shrawan Kumar Timilsina.
Speaking at an event, Gurung called on the Nepali diaspora “Along with monetary commitment it is important for Nepalis staying abroad to come forward and offer their area of expertise in the rebuilding process.” Gurung said the NRN which has pledged to construct 1000 houses will be working on the project.
“We will make the best out of the money donated by locals living abroad,” said Timilsina who informed that so far Rs1.2 million have been collected in the district’s fund.
Lamjung Service Committee’s member and CA member Jamindra Man Ghale said they have also opened a trust of Rs2 million which will go towards education, health and rehabilitation of citizens who have been affected by the Great Quake.
